Princess Tsakani Foundation
.........................................

The Royal Princess, Tsakani is a businessperson who grew up in the Tzaneen area amongst the Royal Nwamitwa and Shilubana families. She was privileged to have grown up in a family that could provide for all their basic needs and encouraged her to realize her potential through hard work and determination. As she grew up she made friends from all walks of life. As the years went by she realized that she had a passion for the less fortunate.

In 2011, she wanted to give back to her community and found that there were many children orphaned due to various aspects that life had thrown their way. That December she decided to make Christmas a memorable one for some of the children by giving them a Christmas party with gifts, a
meal and entertainment. It was an absolute success, and brought so much pleasure to all involved that Princess Tsakani decided to form a Foundation that would raise funds to assist these orphans and others if the funding permitted.

In 2012, the Princess celebrated her 50th birthday. To commemorate this milestone she held a golf day amongst other things to raise funds for the Foundation. This golf day was a huge success. Funds to the value of R80, 000 was made. This allowed the Foundation to purchase full school uniforms, (shoes, socks, trousers, shirts, etc) for the 70 orphans in Nwamitwa that were identified.

Another niche in the market was found that the Foundation has decided to incorporate. Matric Dance is the highlight for all young girls and boys during their school days. It has been found that many youths are unable to attend this special event as they cannot afford glamorous garments. The Foundation is starting a project where we will be able to assist these youths. A campaign will be started where we will be requesting ladies and men to dry clean any garments and accessories they might wish to donate and bring them to our office. These items range from clothing, frocks, suits, shoes, bags, fashion jewellery, etc. These outfits will then be made available to some of the less fortunate youth in the Capricorn district, to start with, who may borrow them for the night and bring it back dry cleaned for the next person to utilise. Some of these outfits will also be used for the youth’s first job interviews, so the range is broad.
